Double D's Oakland A's Debut : On July 2, 2006, the Oakland A's held their first ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) recognition day. Darren was chosen to throw out the first pitch. Darren, along with all the players of his Pony League team, the Pleasant Hill Raptors, took the field for the first pitch and the singing of the National Anthem. A great tailgate party was put on by the families of Darren's team. Darren made a great speech, recognizing all the players and how each contributed to the success of that year. Darren was presented with a Catfish Hunter jersey from the ALS Association.

Paul Damhesel 20 Years of Coaching : On Saturday April 22, 2006, approximately 150 Pony League baseball players and families, celebrated with Coach Paul Damhesel his 20 years as head coach of the Pleasant Hill "Hawk's". Great BBQ was provided by, Wade Cantrell and Greg Valdex, preparing the sloooow cooked 'Pork Shoulder" and "Beef Brisket" "Chicken", cooked on site, and "Pork Ribs" prepared by Darren Dent. Organizing the event and arranging for all the side dishes. Debbie Smith, Lisa Kinoshita and Christina Humm. Thanks to everyone for all the help and Congratulations to Coach Paul

DD Defeats ALS Crab Feed : On March 16, 2007, the first DD Defeats ALS Crab Feed was held at Corpus Christi Church in Oakland CA. One year ago, 41 year old Darren was diagnosed with ALS. Close to four hundred people attended and raised $$$ for the Darren Dent Special Needs Trust Everything was donated for the feed with 100% of the money going directly to the trust. Kelli Bordessa (Darren's sister) was in charge of the event. What a great job she did putting everything together. In addition to the food, there was a silent auction and a live auction. The evening ended with the band "Mojo Deluxe" providing music for listening and dancing The entire Dent family was overwhelmed and says thanks to everyone for making this event a tremendous success.

Darren Dent : On Saturday, May 12, 2007, Darren was presented with a Golden State Warriors basketball signed by all the players. Daniel Halton, a young man that Darren coached, wrote a letter to the Warriors telling them about Darren and how the entire team respected him as a coach and a person. Due to Darren's disease, ALS, he is no longer able to coach. The presentation took place at the office of Alameda County Supervisor, Nathan Miley.

Happy Birthday Darren : On Thursday, June 7, 2007 Darren was joined with a group of close friends to celebrate his birthday and watch a fantastic game between the Oakland A's and the Boston Red Sox Kurt Schilling, the Red Sox pitcher had a no hitter going through the ninth inning with 2 outs when a line drive single by Shannon Stewart ended his perfect game.it The last picture show the hit.
